Chinook helicopters are incredible machines. Capable of not only transporting large numbers of troops, they are also rather agile, able to perform impressive moves like the one you are about to see. Footage captured in early December of 2008 shows just how capable these aircraft are when the pilot lands on only two wheels. That video was shot in Kabul, Afghanistan near an observation post during a troop extraction. The 50,000 pound helicopter is designed to carry 36 troops, but there are stories of them carrying as many as 147 refugees in a single lift. Given the difficult terrain of the region, landings like these are sometimes required, and it takes the most skilled of pilots to pull off.
